Awhi Ora Community Support Workers
The Awhi Ora workers:
- Support people’s needs by focusing on their strengths, abilities and resources and enhancing these to achieve their goals.
- Encourage and assist people and their whānau to access community-based resources.
- Collaborate with the GP practice team to help people achieve positive wellbeing outcomes.
- Must have, or be working towards, a Level 4, health and wellbeing certificate.
Health Coach
Health Coaches come from a wide range of backgrounds, with a background in coaching people to achieve their goals – this could be in a health setting, however we are also looking for people with experience in sports/exercise, nutrition, wellbeing or other areas.
To be a successful Health Coach, you need the drive to create new programmes for your community, and communication skills to connect with the people who come to your practice.
